Michigan Ave. Lansing, MI 48912(Corner of Michigan Ave & Clemens)Calling coffee lovers! We found the perfect spot for those of you who enjoy great coffee and exploring new places. Stranger Matter Coffee Co. on the Lansing area, focuses on making only the best coffee using coffee beans from around the world. Their charm mainly comes from their in-store personal experience with the customer. We really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere we found here, as it is a good place to study or work but also a good place to catch up with some friends with out being in a fast paced and hectic atmosphere. As the years go by, the store has gained fame for their great coffee as well as their cool and hip new atmosphere in the Lansing area. A fun fact for Gilmore Girl fans: This was the coffee shop selected for the pop-up “Lukes Dinner” campaign in Michigan, done just recently in every state to advertise the new Gilmore Girls premier on Netflix. HOPCAT 300 Grove St, East Lansing, MI 48823For an all american experience with lots of great beer and fantastic french fries, we recommend you visit Hopcat. The restaurants atmosphere and services are great! You will feel the college atmosphere in this specific location. From its decorations to its atmosphere on games days or any sunny days during the spring, the restaurant is always vibrant and running. Hopcat was names best brewery of the nation 5 years in a row. They serve beer brewed only in the state of their location, to make the experience at each location different and unique everywhere you go.Here we recommend the beers of course! There is great deal on their brewery products on Happy Hours from Monday to Friday from 3-6 PM. To eat we love all of their burgers but out favorite is the Paddy Melt (Pictured- farther plate) and DO NOT MISS THE CRACK FRIES (Pictured) Their a must have, they are delicious!!! If your looking to order something else we also recommend the Buffalo Rolls which are listed as an entree but can be pretty fulfilling. (Pictured) BUDDIES- OKEMOS 1937 W Grand River Ave, Okemos, MI 48864Don't miss some good food, drinks and a good game of pool. Buddies has 3 different locations close to the Lansing/Okemos area but we only recommend the Okemos location, as its atmosphere is way better and the food is fresher! On the weekends there is Karaoke and it can get busy but walk ins are usually ok.Our favorites here are the Bourbon Salmon (Pictured) with 2 sides of your choice (Pictured-w/ quinoa and mixed greens). If you are feeling like trying something new and SPICY, we recommend you order the New Orleans Pasta (Pictured), it has an incredible mixture of flavors and is pretty fulfilling. To accompany your meal, drinks here are very good and not too pricy, my personal favorite is the Moscow Mule. We really enjoyed our time here, the atmosphere and service was great and the meal was very good. BEGGARS BANQUET 218 Abbot Road, East LansingBrunching is one of our favorite meals, so for those of you who love to brunch just like we do, we have the perfect spot! This is not just a meal its a style of living. Beggars Banquet has one of the best, if not the best brunch in the East Lansing area. So even if brunch is not your thing, we recommend you try it out here, you won't regret it trust us. On weekends there can be a wait but usually walking in is good. Our favorite plates here include the Eggs Bene, the Cinnamon Swirl and the Southerner Omelete (pictured- plate directly in front). If you are feeling like trying something new and different, the menu has some new additions to it, including the veggie bowl (pictured- closer plate) which bring 2 poshed eggs on top of a bed of avocado, walnuts, mushrooms and spinach. We highly recommend it if you are feeling something fresh and light but fulfilling. Finally like any well respected bruncher, you have to try the mimosas(pictured), no brunch ever goes well without these. ENJOY! LANSING BREWING CO. 518 E Shiawassee St, Lansing, MI 48912If you are a beer fanatic, this will be the perfect spot for you in Lansing. Not only do they have really great beers but fantastic food and a really fun atmosphere, specially on weekend nights. The breweries history goes back to 1897 when it was first stablished. It was one of the first breweries in the capital of Michigan, Lansing. It closed in 1914 because of prohibition reasons but is not back and ready to serve their famous beers. For a good dinner, we recommend this place for an all-american experience. The burgers and pizzas are our favorite thing to eat here. For an entree, we liked the nachos and if you are feeling risky and want to try something new, the chicken and waffles were something we have never had before that we enjoyed! On the weekends it can get really packed so we recommend you call ahead or get there earlier. Fridays and Saturdays they open at 11 AM and close at 1AM, for regular days they open at 11Am-11 PM.
