As a fan of ice skating and hockey myself, this was one of my favorite days while I was in Boston, especially with kids. Ice skating at Frog Pond, is something you will have to do if you are there in winter. This is because s the pond is located in the middle of the Boston Common, the main and biggest park in Boston, which is a must visit. Our day was based on having breakfast/brunch around the park, tons of really great places and later heading to skate.
Renting skates is about $12 for adults and $6 for kids, admission is $6 and the pond is open from 10 am till around 8-10 p.m., my recommendation is going earlier in the morning/afternoon as its warmer before the sun goes down.
Once you are done skating, you can go get a warm drink at the Thinking Cup, a cafe located a couple of blocks away, with some of the best coffee I have drank in years. Once your warm and cozy, don’t miss out on walking around the area, as you will find some important historical attractions, as well as the park which is a big central part of what Boston is about. P.S: For those reading , who love shopping, a huge mall is not very far from here, take advantage of the chance while you are there.
